The Foundation for Agrarian Reform Cooperatives in Mindanao (FARMCOOP) is a non-government organization formed in 1995 by agrarian reform beneficiary associations, banana plantation cooperatives and development-oriented individuals. It is the leading service provider to more than 20 partner-cooperatives and farmer associations in Mindanao and a social enterprise pursuing organic agriculture in the fruit industry.

JOB VACANCY
Job Title: Research Assistant
Reports to: Soil Scientist
Department: Research and Development
Area of Assignment: to be based in Davao City with travels to surrounding provinces
Qualifications
- Preferably a graduate of a bachelor’s degree in agriculture – soils major, horticulture, agronomy, crop science, biochemistry, and other related courses preferably from UP Los Baños, Mindanao State University, and Central Mindanao University
- At least 2 years experience in preparation of research outline and the conduct of experiments in the field
- Computer literate with excellent data management skills
- Able to communicate in Cebuano/Bisaya and Filipino
- Excellent oral and written skills in English
- Willingness to be based in Davao City and to travel to surrounding provinces
- Responsibilities and Duties
- Works closely with the chief soil scientist
- Designs field experiments and conduct them in the field
- Gathers experimental data
- Analyzes data statistically, interpret results and write technical report
