The ICRC has been working in the Philippines for more than 50 years. It carries out a range of activities to meet the needs of displaced and other vulnerable people, promote respect for international humanitarian law, and respond to emergencies, often in cooperation with its local partner, the Philippine Red Cross.

Davao Jobs: Field Officer - Protection Department for International Committee of the Red Cross  (Based in Davao City)

Main Tasks:

•     Participates in the assessment and monitoring of humanitarian situation in the area and general political / socio-economical / security situation
•     Assists in the implementation of protection activities – protection of the civilian population and regular visits to places of detention
•     Conducts necessary follow up with authorities and beneficiaries on protection and detention related issues
•     Promotes and disseminates the principles of International Humanitarian Law and activities of ICRC
•     Prepares written reports and analysis on a periodic and project basis 
•     Establishes and maintains contact with various groups, including individual beneficiaries, humanitarian organizations and local authorities
•     Contributes to the formulation of objectives, plans of action and preparation of budgets
•     Travels regularly within the assigned areas 

Minimum Required Profile:

•     Bachelor's degree preferably in Social Sciences or equivalent
•     2 - years work experience in a similar field
•     Cebuano and Tagalog speaker; knowledge of any local dialect/s in Mindanao is an asset
•     Excellent English speaking and writing skills
•     Good geographical knowledge of Mindanao
•     Very good analytical, organizational, planning and reporting skills
•     Very good communication and team coordination skills
•     Good computer skills (MS Office)
•     Ability to exercise discretion and respects confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
•     Availability to travel regularly within area of coverage
